VOLUNTEER

Habitat for Humanity doesn’t exist without volunteers.

Generous with their time and skills, Dallas County volunteers build

decent affordable homes that strengthens and revitalizes communities.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

  • Construction/Renovation: All skill levels are welcome, all we ask for is a willing heart. You can expect to do projects such as framing, siding, painting, landscaping, demolition and clean-up.

  • Site Maintenance:  We want to be good neighbors and maintain our properties until we can turn them over to a partner family. Volunteer projects include minor repairs, mowing, pruning, and basic yard maintenance.

  • Family Support Committee: Volunteers identify possible partner families and guide them through the application, selection, and home construction process.   This insures a successful partnership and smooth transition into home ownership.

  • Building Committee: This volunteer group selects sites and floor plans to meet the needs of partner families, then oversees the construction process.

  • Office Work/Special Events: Volunteers gather to do mailings, meeting preparation, recycling and cleaning. They also plan special events, organize resources, set-up, operate event, then clean-up.

  • Special Skills/Interests: Put your lifetime of acquired skills to work for your community. Habitat needs construction project managers, grant writers, loan officers, public relations/media liaisons, photographers, web/video developers, fundraisers, food service organizers and volunteer coordinators.

  • Donation Pickup: Put your truck, trailer or van to work and pick up donations for Habitat fundraisers.
